An innovative application of Cedar-Sinai’s brand guidelines and elements is used here in the design of a donor recognition birthday card and a collection of stories and poems for a High Holiday event.

To create a poster for each of the international office locations for DAQRI, I drew inspiration from vintage tourism posters. I honed a clean, vector look and feel that would complement the company’s branding. I researched symbols, figures, and landmarks of each city to determine the color palettes, buildings, and landscapes that would differentiate each poster.

To provide a non-profit, Buddhist medical foundation with a low-cost, more modern, less copy-heavy annual report, I quickly organized and directed a one-day photoshoot inside the clinic and another shoot at a local health fair. To visually reduce the historical content, I incorporated a milestone timeline into the main section pages. Large, san-serif type and clean charts help condense statistics for a quick read.

To position Canada Film Capital and its sister company, Entertainment Partners Canada, as expert advisors on tax incentive and payroll services, a playful, evocative tone is achieved through witty comparisons between the companies’ expertise and well-known Canadian cultural highlights.

For the first series of ads, thick red sections both frame the imagery and form an abstract visual of the Canadian flag. Bold, vibrant, close-cropped images further focus the viewer and increase curiosity about the message.

In the second set of ads, common phrases are incorporated into headlines and complemented with playful imagery to create double entendres and a series of tips that demonstrate the kind of cost-saving advice the companies can offer.

Black and white photography contrasted with red, the elimination of any unnecessary titles, callouts and copy, and partially obscured section headers all worked together to mimic the style and art of the mime in page layout form.
